Construction noise

Dear Parents,  Happy New Year to all of you. It's been fun today having smiling faces and endless energy filling up our building today! I hope that you enjoyed the holiday season and had some time to relax and refresh your spirit.  I want to make you aware that our construction site will be a bit noisy for a period of time. I have been told that they are going to begin shooting pins into the concrete and that this shooting will sound like gunshots. The shots will not be constant but when they use this gun/tool it will be noticeable. I have asked our staff to explain this to our students so that if they hear it they will be prepared and not afraid.  This will not be dangerous to us at all but could be misunderstood.  Thank you,   Beth Beth Raucci Principal Lincoln Akerman School

Happy Holidays!

Dear Parents,  Everyone here at LAS would like to wish you a joyful holiday season. Thank you for sharing your children with us and enjoy your time together in the next couple of weeks.  Tomorrow is an early release day and dismissal is at 11:30.  Happy Holidays!  Beth Beth Raucci Principal Lincoln Akerman School

Dear Parents,  The annual Craft Fair is tomorrow and will be held here at LAS, in the gym, from 9-2. We hope you are able to stop by and shop! The flyer is attached if you would like more detail. All proceeds go to the class trip for the 7th grade.  The LAS chorus, band and guitar groups are all excited to perform for you on the evening of December 11th! The concert will begin at 6pm and will be held in the Winnacunnet auditorium. We are looking forward to seeing you there.  We started the week with a very full Giving Tree but now the branches are bare. Thanks to all of you that chose a star that hung on the tree, your generosity will really help someone this season. if you would still like to donate something new hats and mittens in all sizes will be appreciated. You can bring them to the office if you would like to participate.  If you don't feel like reading these emails when you receive them, or can't find it when you try to retrieve it they will now be archived on our webs

Breakfast on Friday Morning

Dear Parents, Just a reminder that the Honor Roll Breakfast is scheduled for Friday morning, December 7th and will be held in the cafetria/gym. Doors will be open at 7:30 am and all 5-8th graders are welcome to attend. We will honor students that have made the honor roll but are also going to expand the conversation and begin talking about and honoring the whole child.  Therefore, we will talk about  citizenship, teamwork, habits of mind, participation, leadership, empathy and community service. We have many activities that students are positively engaged in and we want to recognize those efforts. Breakfast will be served about 7:40-7:45 and toward the end of breakfast we will go right into honoring our students with you. Please know that we are not planning on bringing our K-4 students into an assembly, rather we will do this right after we finish eating. We expect to be finished at 8:30 for those of you that need to get to work.  Thank you,  Be

Friday Notes

D ear Parents, The holiday spirit is in the air at LAS with our youngest students singing in the hallways and our band members working hard as the concert approaches! The Giving Tree in the office is almost bare  and it is evident that giving is on   everyone's  mind as well.  Our honors breakfast is scheduled for next Friday morning and will begin at 7:30 am in the cafeteria. All students in grades 5-8 are invited.  I had the opportunity to meet with our 8th graders today and we had a nice conversation about the meaning of the word legacy. I presented an  idea  to them that framed the conversation and let them know that as a class they are being given the opportunity to sign the last steel beam that will go up on the crane. We are consistently looking for ways to talk about the contributions they can be making as young adults and what they feel they can leave to LAS. There are still many months left and their budding maturity has enhance d  the conversation

Two Important Items

Dear Parents,  I am sorry to have to tell you that we will be losing our main office door due to the progression of the construction project. Although I am thankful we have been able to use it until now, coming in and out of the school now becomes a little more challenging.  If you need to come into the school during the school day you can do so in the rear of the building. Cameras and buzzers have been installed and are in use. Visitors into our building will still be required to come to the office, sign in, and wear a badge while in the building. This will begin tomorrow. Hopefully this will only last a couple of months. Click here for information regarding blizzard bags . A committee of teachers has worked hard to put a thoughtful blizzard bag initiative into place with improvements each year. This letter will explain in more depth what will take place in the event school must be canceled.  Thank you, Beth Raucci Principal Lincoln Akerm
